What is Disability VAT Exemption and Who Qualifies?

Every Jorvik tricycle—since the very first—has been meticulously designed and manufactured with individuals with limited mobility or disabilities in mind, helping them regain independence and enhance their lifestyle.

Our registration to supply VAT-exempt products comes from independent bodies in the UK and the Netherlands, with confirmation from the UK Government, enabling us to offer this service to both UK and EU customers. Due to strict regulations, VAT exemption is only available on specific models and to customers with a qualifying long-term disability.

The Disability VAT Exemption Process with Jorvik Tricycles

Step 1: Check your eligibility

Disability VAT exemption applies to individuals with long-term disabilities. You may already be aware if this applies to you. The government defines those eligible for VAT-free goods as being chronically sick or disabled, and the goods must be for your personal or domestic use. Step 2: Find an eligible tricycle and place your order

Tricycles that qualify for VAT exemption will feature a "VAT Exemption" button on the product page. Simply select this option to adjust the price before placing your order. If you’re shopping by phone or in our showroom, please inform us of your eligibility, and we’ll guide you through the process.

Step 3: Fill in the VAT exemption form

All customers claiming VAT exemption must sign a self-declaration form.

This form requires you to state why you qualify and provide details of your long-term disability. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the information provided is accurate. Jorvik Tricycles does not verify or accept liability for any incorrect information submitted.
