• Sunshine power at home: If you've got solar panels on your roof, great! You can use that clean energy to charge your trike. Even in the UK, those panels can still soak up enough juice during the day. Plus, you might even get paid for any extra energy you send back to the grid.
• Choosing green energy: Loads of energy companies now offer plans that use 100% renewable electricity – including wind and solar. Switch to one of them, and you can feel good knowing your trike's getting its power from clean sources, even when you charge it overnight. Some even have cheaper rates if you charge off peak when everyone else isn't using much power, which is a win-win.
• Clever charging: Consider investing in a smart charger which will allow you to set when your trike charges, so you can plug in when it's the greenest time. Some even chat to the grid and charge up when you're most likely to be able to take advantage of renewable energy. Keeping an eye on how much electricity you're using can also help you be more efficient.
