Jorvik Tricycles was founded on the belief that everyone should have equal access to cycling, regardless of any challenges they may face with mobility. That’s why we were thrilled to meet the team from PEDALL when they recently popped into our Southampton showroom.

Who are PEDALL?

PEDALL exists to help make cycling available to everyone by providing inclusive cycling around the New Forest. The group run guided sessions in which anyone who wants to enjoy cycling can explore the great outdoors and the mental and physical benefits that come with it.

Most importantly, these sessions are designed to be accessible for anyone, regardless of physical ability or health conditions. At their completely free introduction sessions, they help match riders with the correct cycle for their specific needs before assisting them in exploring the stunning surroundings of the New Forest.

PEDALL is hosted by the New Forest National Park Authority and supported by the Friends of PEDALL charity. The project is also supported by Forestry England and the NHS, with funding from the National Lottery Community fund and other donors.

When we first learned of the work being done by PEDALL, we just knew that we had to connect with them as they’re so aligned with our goal of making cycling accessible for everyone.

PEDALL and Jorvik Tricycles

We were thrilled to welcome some of the team from PEDALL to our Southampton showroom recently, where they were able to give some of our electric tricycles a spin around our test track and tell us more about the work they do.

Our tricycles are all designed with accessibility in mind, especially including the FRELSI, which was our first every specifically designed mobility tricycle. Not only does the FRELSI have mobility in mind, but it’s also built to take on tough terrain while remaining incredibly comfortable.

Gareth’s Charity Ride

This June, Gareth Jones from PEDALL has been hitting the road on two absolutely gruelling cycling challenges. Over the Summer Solstice, Gareth was joined by PEDALL Trustee Darren Hutchins to take on Chase the Sun, an epic coast-to-coast cycle across the UK, covering over 300km in one day from sunrise to sunset. The ride set off from Whitley Bay in the Northeast of England and took in some of the UK’s most stunning scenery on the way to Ayr in Scotland.

Not content with 300km, Gareth is going the extra mile (or extra 600km!) as he cycles down to Birmingham from Ayr. This takes his total distance to 900kn in just a few days – an unbelievable effort and all in support of PEDALL.

Jorvik Tricycles Powering PEDALL

We’re proud that Jorvik Tricycles are helping PEDALL and helping them towards their goal of making cycling accessible to as many people as possible – no matter what challenges they may face.

When they visited our Southampton showroom, they’d already had their eyes on tricycles from another supplier. However, after taking a selection of our Jorvik trikes for a ride and chatting to our team in Southampton, they decided to purchase four of our electric tricycles instead. We can’t wait to see how they contribute to helping people enjoy the New Forest for years to come.

If you’ve read this article and felt inspired to push beyond your own challenges and get into cycling – we’re here to help. Our showrooms in York, Chester and Southampton all have dedicated test tracks and a range of our electric tricycles, plus our team of helpful experts to talk you through your options and help you find the right tricycle for your needs. Simply head to our showrooms page to find out more and book a test ride.
